I then show you how to add someone to your Zoleo SOS Contacts list, and afterwards I go over how to delete/replace someone off that list.
I further show you how to add someone to your Zoleo Check-In & Location Share+ Contacts list, and again, afterwards I show you how to remove someone from that list.
Lastly, after you’ve learned the above skills, you’ll be ready to delete someone from your general Zoleo contacts list. I’ll show you how to do so at the end of this article.

How to add someone to your Zoleo contacts list
In order to add a contact on the Zoleo website, you should already have a Zoleo account, and have gone through the initial process of activating your Zoleo device. This entails that you’ve already filled out the information for 2 contacts, during that initial setup, because 2 contacts are required to be on your SOS contacts list, when activating your device and plan.
However you can add more contacts on the Zoleo website.
Log into your Zoleo account
Go to zoleo.com and sign into your Zoleo account. Once you’re signed in, you should see the main page of your account, that looks like this:
Click the SOS and Check-in Contacts option
Click the SOS and Check-in Contacts option on the main page, which is on the left-hand menu. I’ve indicated where on the menu it is with the red arrow in the image above. Once you’ve done so you’ll be on the SOS and Check-in Contacts page, and it should look like this:
Click on the green circle with the plus sign under the ‘Add New Contact’ header
Click on the green circle with the white plus sign icon, which is under the ‘Add New Contact’ header. I’ve illustrated the correct area, with the red box, in the picture above. Afterwards this should open up several fields to fill out about your new contact.
Fill out the contact’s information
You’ll need to fill out their name, cell number, and email address, then pick which language that they speak, as they could potentially be speaking to a global rescue team if you ever need to hit the SOS button on your device (if you assign them as an SOS contact). See picture below:
After you have everything filled out, click the green ‘save’ button under the new contact’s info box, and it should queue to the right, and have a slight grey tint to it (see below, in the red box).
You now have added a contact. However, your new contact is not assigned to either your SOS contacts or your ‘check in’/’location share +’ contacts. So we’ll learn these steps next before we get into how to delete a contact on this screen.
Contacts cannot be deleted on the SOS and Check-in Contacts page, unless they have been removed from both the SOS contacts, and ‘check in’/’location share+’ contacts assignments, on the Devices and Plans page. We’ll look at that next.
How to add someone to your Zoleo SOS contacts list
To add someone to your Zoleo SOS contacts list, you must first add them to your general contacts list on the ‘SOS and Check-in Contacts’ page on the Zoleo website or app. These are the steps we just accomplished above, so if you’re just scrolling through the article, please read the above section called ‘How to add a contact on the Zoleo website‘.
After you have added your contact to your contacts list, follow the directions below to add them as an SOS contact.
Select the ‘Devices & Plans’ option
Select the ‘Devices & Plans’ option in the leftward menu. The red arrow in the picture above shows where it’s at.
This will take you to the next screen, with a cell phone-like options box, which has your first name at the header (see below). It will say [your first name]’s Zoleo.
The options box will be populated by default on its ‘account information’ tab. But you need to be on the contacts tab to add your new contact to your SOS Contacts.
Select the ‘Contacts’ tab
Go ahead and select the ‘contacts’ tab as shown in the red box below.
Pick a SOS contact that you want to replace with your new contact
When you first signed up and activated your Zoleo account, it was necessary to add two contacts to your SOS contact list. So when you click on the contacts tab (red box in the pic above), those two original SOS contacts will be shown at the top of the options box in the Contacts tab.
You cannot have less than 2 contacts, nor can you have more than 2 contacts in your SOS Contacts list. So in order to add your new contact to your SOS list, you will need to replace one of your original SOS contacts. Figure out who you want to replace and click the carrot in the drop down menu where their name is (see red box below).
Select the new contact you want to replace your original SOS contact with
After you have made your selection on which SOS contact you want to replace, and clicked the carrot in the drop down box next to their name, find your new contact’s name in that drop down menu and select them. See below:
Save your changes
After selecting your new contact and their name now shows in the box, click the green ‘Save All’ button that now should be floating below the contacts menu box. See inside the red box below:
After clicking the ‘Save All’ button, you have successfully added your new contact to your SOS Contacts list. You have also replaced a SOS contact and we’ll use this technique remove a person from your SOS Contacts list in the next section.
A floating box will appear in the middle of the screen, with the word, ‘Saved’ on it, and it will have a green check mark icon above such. Click the ‘Done’ option in this box to return to the Devices & Plans page.
How to remove someone from your Zoleo SOS Contacts list
As previously explained, in the last section on adding a new contact to your SOS Contacts list, you cannot have less than 2 people on your SOS Contacts list, and you cannot have more than 2 people on that list.
So if you want to remove one of your contacts from your SOS Contacts list, you must replace them with a new contact. To create a new contact, read the first section in this article called, ‘How to add a contact on the Zoleo website‘.
After creating this new contact, you will simply replace your original SOS contact, with this newer one. This is what we just did in the ‘How to add someone to your Zoleo SOS contacts list‘ section of this article. So simply follow those steps to remove and replace your original SOS contact with your newly created one.
How to add someone to your Zoleo Check-In list
To add a new person to your Zoleo Check-In contacts list (which is also your Location Share+ list, if you pay a little extra on your plan), you must first add this new person to your general contacts list, on the SOS and Check-in Contacts page, on the Zoleo website or app. You need to be logged in to your Zoleo account to do so, of course.
Add your new contact to the general contacts list
In order to add a new person to your general contacts list please read above section in this article called, ‘How to add a contact on the Zoleo website‘. It’s basically the same process in the app as well. Really you just have to navigate to the SOS and Check-in Contacts page and add your new contact there.
After you have added your new contact to your general contacts list, proceed to the next step below.
Select the Devices and Plans option on your Zoleo account menu
The leftward Zoleo account menu will have an option called Devices and Plans. Click that option (see red arrow on the picture below).
This will take you to the next screen, with a cell phone-like options box, which has your first name at the header (see below). It will say [your first name]’s Zoleo.
The options box will be populated by default on its ‘account information’ tab. But you need to be on the contacts tab to add your new contact to your Check-In Contacts list.
Select the ‘Contacts’ tab
Select the ‘contacts’ tab as shown in the red box below to get to the Check-in contacts list.
Add your new contact to the Check-In & Location Share+ list
Zoleo lets you have up to 5 check-in contacts which will receive your coordinates, and where you are on a local map, when you activate the check-in button on your Zoleo device or in the app.
If you’ve also purchased the ‘Location Share+’ option from Zoleo, your device will also automatically send your coordinates on a regular frequency to these same contacts, and further put way point breadcrumbs on a map of the area your in, so these contacts can see exactly where you’ve been, at multiple points along your venture.
If you haven’t filled up all 5 slots on your check in contact list, then head down to the bottom of the list, and click the carrot in the left grey drop down menu (where it says ‘select’), and select your new contact. Then select the carrot in the right grey drop down menu, to choose the contact method in which your contact should receive your check-ins. The options are SMS (text message), email, SMS & email, and if they happen to have the Zoleo app on their phone, this too could be an option.
If you are using all 5 slots in your check-in contact list, then you will have to replace one person on the list with the new contact you want to add. In that case, click the carrot in the drop down menu that has the name of the contact you are replacing, and select your new contact from that drop down menu. You can also update their contact method as well if need be.
Save your changes
After you have made the appropriate changes to your check in’s list, a green Save All button will appear, floating near the bottom of your screen (if on the website, on your PC). Go ahead and save your changes by clicking this save button (see example of the green button below, in the red box):
After saving your changes you have successfully added a new person to your Zoleo check in contacts list. A floating box will appear in the middle of the screen, with the word, ‘Saved’ on it, and it will have a green check mark icon above such. Click the ‘Done’ option in this box.
How to remove someone from your Zoleo Check-In & Location Share+ list
To remove someone from your Zoleo Check-In & Location Share+ list, you must access the Contacts tab under the Devices & Plans menu, in your account. I’ve gone over detailed instructions, with pictures on how to access the Contacts tab in this article, above, both in the section, How to add someone to your Zoleo Check In list, and in the section, How to add someone to your Zoleo SOS contacts list. Please read the first part of one of those sections to find your Contacts tab.
Remove the contact from your Zoleo Check-In & Location Share+ list
To remove a person from your Zoleo Check-in Contacts list, find their name in the drop down boxes inside the list. Then click the carrot beside their name, and a drop down menu of contact names will appear. You have the choice to either remove the person from the list, by choosing the ‘Remove’ option, or replace them with another contact (that’s not already on your list), by choosing that contact’s name.
After you select ‘Remove’ their name and contact method no longer appear on the list.
Or if you’ve just replaced them, the new person’s name will appear, and you can further choose how they should be contacted on the Contact Method option next to their name.
Save Changes
Once you’ve either removed or replaced your contact, a green ‘save’ button will appear, floating at the bottom of the screen. Go ahead and click that green ‘Save All’ button to save your changes. Again I’ll post the image of what that button looks like, where I’ve drawn a red box around it:
Now you have successfully removed someone from your Zoleo Check-In & Location Share+ list. Like in previous examples above, a floating box will appear in the middle of the screen, with the word, ‘Saved’ on it, and it will have a green check mark icon above such. Click the ‘Done’ option in this box.
How to remove someone from your Zoleo contacts
To remove a person from your general contacts list, on the SOS & Check-in Contacts list page, you must first remove them from both the SOS Contacts and Check-In and Location Share+ Contacts lists, on the Contacts tab, in the Devices & Plans page in your account.
Read the tutorials above, in this article, on how to remove someone from your SOS Contacts list, and how to remove someone from your Check-In Contacts list.
And remember, you will always be required to have exactly 2 SOS contacts, so to remove someone from your SOS Contacts list, you need to have a new person added in your general contacts list, to replace them with. Therefore, also read in this article the section on How to add someone to your Zoleo contacts list.
Delete the contact from your SOS & Check-in Contacts page
After removing the person from both your SOS Contacts list, and your Check-In and Location Share+ Contacts list, navigate back to your SOS & Check-in Contacts page.
Once on the SOS & Check-in Contacts page, you should see the info box for the person you want to remove. And there should be a ‘Delete’ button in the bottom of that box.
As long as you have previously removed the person from your SOS Contacts and Check-In and Location Share+ Contacts lists, then that delete button should be lit up and clickable. If it’s not clickable, then they are still on either of those other lists, and you’ll need to try again at removing them from those.
After clicking delete, and following any more simple prompted instructions after doing so, you have successfully removed the person from your Zoleo contacts list.
