Can two people use the same Zoleo device at the same time?
No, two people cannot use the same Zoleo at the same time. Once one person is connected to their Zoleo, via the Zoleo app, that same device won’t show on another person’s Zoleo app, when they are in the process of trying to connect to it. The only way that second person could see the Zoleo device in their app, when trying to connect, is if the first person, who is connected to the device on theirs, goes through the process of disconnecting their app from the Zoleo device.
Can two people use the same Zoleo device?
Yes, two people can use the same Zoleo device, but only at different times. They cannot simultaneously be connected to the same device. However the person connected to the device can disconnect from the device on their app, and this will let another person they are lending their Zoleo to connect to it on their app. That second person, must also have their own, active account that they have set up, and paid for online.
How to disconnect the Zoleo device from the Zoleo app
- Power up the Zoleo and get into the Zoleo app on your phone.

- On the settings menu, choose the option ‘Disconnect from Zoleo Device’.
- A pop up menu will appear titled, ‘Disconnect from Zoleo Device’ with a ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ option on its bottom edge. It also says, ‘Are you sure? You will not be able to send or receive satellite messages until you connect to it again.’

How to connect the Zoleo device to the Zoleo app
- Power up the Zoleo device and get into the Zoleo app on your phone.
- If you’re not near cell service or Wifi, then make sure you’re outside in an open space, so your device can see the satellites.
- At the bottom of your phone screen, in the app, there is a Zoleo icon in the middle of the bottom menu. Tap that icon.
- On the screen where it asks you to, ‘Select your Zoleo device below,’ look near the bottom third of the screen for an ‘IMEI’ number that starts with the digits, 300…’, and is around 15 digits in length. Make sure that number is the same number on the label on the back of the device. Tap that number to select your device.
- On the next screen it will say, ‘Connecting to IMEI 300…,’ and will automatically start trying to connect. Make sure your Zoleo device is pointing to the sky, and you are in an open space, if connecting via satellite. It can take a few minutes if connecting via satellite.
- Once you are connected, you should see new menu icons on the bottom of the screen (SOS & Weather).
- Tap the settings icon in the lower right corner. Then tap ‘Follow-Me Messaging’. Confirm you are getting Follow-Me Messaging by examining your Zoleo phone number, and your Zoleo email.
*** Note: in order for the above instructions to work, you must already have a Zoleo account set up, where you have paid the set up fee, made a Zoleo email address, and selected your two SOS contacts. This requires Wifi or cell service to do. You won’t be able to do it on the trail, away from cell service.

Yes, two people can share a Zoleo device, but they won’t be able to use the device at the same time.
